Dawn & Larry are both ballroom dancers, competitively & for social enjoyment which is actually how I first met Larry. There’s this sweet blues fusion social dancing venue in Sacramento, one of the best underground-esque, talented, eclectic community who are just ‘good people.’
[Photog insight: as soon as I was hired for Larry + Dawn’s wedding I was eager for the ballroom dancing at the reception. Can you say picture perfect?]
Dawn met Larry online after only 3 days of having a profile.”It actually works!” she said. For their first date, Larry talked Dawn out of meeting a date she had already agreed to and talked her into meeting him for coffee instead. Their next date was a visit to the Crocker Art Museum with Dos Coyotes southwestern food to follow up. Well, he stole her away and 4 years later – to the month!- they were wed in the heart of the city of Sacramento.
After a casual rehearsal dinner just a few hours before the ceremony, the Okinaka bridal party prepared their tuxes, dresses + hair + makeup and entered the grande Tsakopoulos Library Galleria. The ceremony was sincere and unique, short and sweet. The officiant wrapped a hand-braided rope around their enclosed hands to symbolize their union.
