Destination weddings are the perfect way to honor a love for travel on the day you say, “I do.” Some destination weddings are intimate gatherings of immediate family members and best friends and others are even smaller, with just a priest or a pastor to officiate the ceremony. [Photographer’s insight: I love to travel so destination weddings combine two loves for me too, wedding photography + adventure].
Jeremy & Angela’s Hawaiian sunset elopement seemed like a dream cut out of a young girl’s diary. Angela was giddy as she waited for the pastor and her for-now-fiancé to walk out to the edge of the shore and prepare their hearts where Jeremy would become her husband.
In Polynesian culture life is in tandem to nature and their ceremony was a beautiful blend of matrimony & island-style reverence for the commitment they were making to each other. As the ceremony was completed and the marriage certificate was filled in Jeremy & Angela took a moment to face the sunset with their toes in the water. The moment seemed to be a feat of freedom and accomplishment as much as it was the beginning of the rest of their lives.
